I saw this Japanese invented ” Felting Needle” at Governor’s island for the first time. Felting needle is a small size plastic cylinder with a built in spring and removable needle sets which can be punched over wool roving on any fabric surface. And you can get super creative with this little tool.
Now, here’s one example. The small wool felted rectangular pattern around the button hole can turn into a anything you wish. A circle or an abstract motif with any color you like on anywhere. How about an elbow patch? Or over your collar of a blazer. I think this also could be an excellent thing to mend a hole on a beloved sweater.
The needle holder. The top cap can be twisted off to insert needles. Check out ” Japan Clover Felting needle Kit” on line. You can buy the needle holder, needles and a small bag of wool roving at under $30.00
